Vampire Diaries Was Filmed in Georgia: Locations Revealed!

The Vampire Diaries is a supernatural drama television series that is based on the 1991 fictional book series with the same title wrote by author L. J. Smith.

The show first aired in 2009, telling about the small-town life of Elena Gilbert which was played by actress Nina Dobrev.

Elena was a recently orphaned teenage girl who lived in the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. She then soon meets and falls in love with Stefan Salvatore, who is played by actor Paul Wesley, and his brother Damon, who is played by actor Ian Somerhalder. Both brothers are vampires.

The show was filmed inside the city of Covington, Georgia who filled in for the fictional small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. Some of the scenes were even filmed inside of the state capital of Atlanta, Georgia and Monroe and Conyers, Georgia.
